What is Best Toothpaste for my Child

What Kind of Toothpaste Should My Child Use?

Using toothpaste should be a part of any oral health care regimen.

However, many kinds of toothpastes are not good for your child’s teeth because they can contain ingredients that might wear away their tooth enamel.

As a guideline, make sure to pick toothpaste that is recommended by the American Health Association (ADA). These products have been thoroughly tested to make sure that they are safe and effective to use.

ADA also recommends that before children are 2 years old, not to use toothpaste that contains fluoride. Children this age are not able to understand how to spit out toothpaste yet.

After age 2, include toothpaste with fluoride as part of their daily regimen to help further prevent tooth decay.
