Visiting The Dentist For The First Time
It is perfectly normal if your child is nervous about visiting a dentist for the first time.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your newborn visit the dentist by their first birthday. Making the first visit pleasant and positive is key to helping your child form a good relationship with their dentist as well as helping them realize that oral health is important.
Before you come with your child, talk to them about what it means to visit the dentist. Avoid using words that are negative. It would be a shame to cause unnecessary fear before your child even steps into the dentist’s office.
Your dentist will explain all procedures to your child as well as answer any questions.
